Commission for Ethics in Security-related Research

The LIN has a Commission for Ethics in Security-Related Research (KEF). The Commission was established in accordance with the recommendations of the German Research Foundation (DFG) and the Leopoldina National Academy, and advises LIN researchers on issues of research ethics relating to security-related research projects.

As an instrument of scientific self-regulation, it aims to raise awareness of the potential misuse of research findings by third parties (‘dual use’) and to provide further training.
