- The Future of Bee and Fly Neuroethology, Modeling and Robotics
The Future of Bee and Fly Neuroethology, Modeling and Robotics
Understanding the neural mechanisms behind adaptive, natural behavior is one of the most exciting challenges in neuroscience. The future of neuroethology depends on collaboration across behavioral and neural sciences, computational science, and behavioral ecology.
↗ 25-27 August 2025
↗ Harnack Haus Berlin
↗ Registration closedThis three-day conference will bring together leading experts and emerging voices to explore the future of neuroethology, with a special focus on honeybees and fruit flies as key model organisms for groundbreaking discoveries in this field.
Conference Highlights
↗ Cutting-edge research topics such as high-resolution behavioural analysis, the development of genetic tools, advanced imaging, circuit reconstruction, modelling and AI-supported robotics.
↗ Renowned Experts & Rising Stars: Hear from leading scientists, alongside a diverse group of early-career researchers.
↗ Engaging Talk Sessions – 10-minute presentations followed by interactive discussions, with a special session dedicated to PhD students.
↗ We encourage collaboration and networking with roundtable discussions, poster presentations and informal networking formats. This event is designed to connect early-career researchers, and established scientists across disciplines, creating a dynamic environment for sharing insights and shaping the future of neuroethology. Don’t miss this opportunity to be part of the conversation!

Yoshinori Aso - International Conference on Auditory Cortex
International Conference on Auditory Cortex
The "International Conference on Auditory Cortex" was first organised in 2003 and has been taking place every three years since then. The conference has so far been held in Magdeburg, Nottingham, Lausanne, Canada and is aimed at national and international auditory research.
Due to the corona crisis, the conference was postponed from 2020 to September 2021. - Functional Architecture of Memory (FAM)
Prof. Dr. Magdalena Sauvage Functional Architecture of Memory (FAM)
The conference "Functional Architecture of Memory (FAM)" aims to provide new insights into important controversies in the field of memory research and to point out parallels between human and animal memory. The conference takes place every two years.
- Synaptic Function and Neural Circuitry
Meeting poster 2019 Synaptic Function and Neural Circuitry
The symposium "Synaptic Function and Neural Circuitry" took place for the first time in September 2019 in Busan, South Korea as a satellite meeting of the IBRO World Conference 2019. Top researchers from all over the world came together. The meeting was also the final meeting of the Leibniz-SAW project "Neurotranslation: An international networking initiative to target Shank-mediated neuropsychiatric disorders- Shankopathies".
In 2020, the second edition of the symposium should take place in Germany. Due to the Corona crisis the meeting was cancelled.
- MCB Brain Plast Conference
MCB Brain Plast Conference
The MCB Brain Plast International Conference took place for the second time in 2019 and was organized by the postdocs of the Leibniz-funded CBBS ScienceCampus at LIN from September 9 to 11, 2019. The conference invited excellent scientists from Germany and from abroad to come to Magdeburg.
