About our guest:
After studying biology at the Georg-August University in Göttingen, Susanne Diederich was drawn to the North Sea. At the Wadden Sea Station Sylt, she studied the distribution of the Pacific oyster and received her doctorate in biological oceanography from the Christian-Albrechts-Universität zu Kiel in 2005. She then worked for three years as a research assistant in the Communications and Media Department of the Alfred Wegener Institute - Helmholtz Centre for Polar and Marine Research in Bremerhaven. In 2008, she moved to the position of press spokesperson at the Max Planck Campus in Tübingen, and since 2010, she has headed the Communications Staff Unit at the German Primate Center - Leibniz Institute for Primate Research in Göttingen.

About the Career Talk:
Susanne Diederich will talk about her personal career, which led from her own scientific work as part of her doctorate to science communication. She will address what it means to do public relations for a research institute and what challenges and incentives this job entails. She will provide insights into her day-to-day work and talk about what helped her in her career planning and what stumbling blocks she had to overcome. Susanne Diederich will be happy to answer any questions and is looking forward to the discussion with the participants.

The Career Talk will be held in English, but questions can also be asked in German afterwards.
